The tour begins with a visit to the
Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary. This small island set in the splendour of Lake Victoria is home to over thirty rescued chimpanzees, mostly victims of the pet trade. For the chimps it is a safe home and for the visitor it’s a great opportunity to see our fascinating ‘cousins’ up close.
We transfer to Jinja and visit Bujagali Falls and the source of the Nile. Here the mighty river is said to begin its 4000 mile and 3 month journey to the Mediterranean.
Be prepared for an adrenalin-filled afternoon. Grade 4/5 rapids extend over 25 km in one of the world’s premier
white water rafting locations, and you will spend the afternoon bouncing over, through and under them.
Another day in East Africa’s adventure sports capital, where you can take your pick from river boarding, kayaking, bungee jumping and quad biking.
We make an early start for the tranquil beauty of
Lake Mburo National Park. This is a chance to take it easy and enjoy the magnificent wildlife and scenery. Our first game drives typically reveal zebra, topi, impala and the giant eland. The acacia forests and wetlands of Mburo also provide great chances to see the rare sitatunga antelope.
In the afternoon we enjoy a boat trip in the main lake, providing further game viewing and great bird watching.
Following a last game drive, we make our way back to Kampala, where the tour ends.
