Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to roughly half of the world’s mountain gorillas and is one of only two national parks in Uganda where you can see these magnificent creatures.
This is a fast and tiring safari but worth every second, should you be lucky enough to see the gorillas.
An 8 hour drive from Kampala takes up the whole of the first day, together with an evening rest to prepare you for the next day.
We wake early, enjoy breakfast and begin our trek. It can take several hours or as little as twenty minutes to find the gorillas – it all depends on where they happen to be.
Details of gorilla trekking are covered on our gorilla safari page, so please click here to learn more.
We leave Bwindi behind and head towards the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. We pass through what is East Africa's most spectacular scenery, the highland rain forests. Filled with primates and exotic birds, this really is an incredible drive.
The afternoon is spent on a foot safari around the magnificent crater lake, Bunyonyi.
We make the long journey back to Kampala, where the tour ends.
